FogHouse Concerts Presents Jackson Emmer
We’re truly excited to be starting off the 2025 FogHouse Concerts series with none other than Jackson Emmer. We first saw him in 2023 at the Half Moon Bay Odd Fellows Hall and having been working to get him here ever since. Come enjoy and you’ll understand why!! He will be accompanied by the extraordinarily talented McCoy Tyler on guitar.
Though often pigeonholed into the “Folk” “Americana” or “Country” genres, Emmer’s music is far more expansive. His writing, production, and collaborations have branched into Indie, Alt-Rock, Jazz, and Electronica territory. Emmer has penned his own name for these genre-defying mashups: “Honky Tronica.”
Jackson is an award-winning songwriter, folksinger, and genre-bending artist from Carbondale, Colorado. His work blends humor with heartache, and tradition with exploration. Emmer’s writing is often compared to that of John Prine and Guy Clark. He has toured the US since 2009, collaborated with Grammy-winners, and co-written 75+ songs with folk music legend, Tom Paxton. Emmer has opened for Robert Earl Keen, Sierra Ferrell, Band of Heathens, and Carsie Blanton. His music has been featured in Rolling Stone, Billboard, and thousands of Spotify playlists. Emmer now lives in Santa Cruz, California.
“Americana songwriters are a dime a dozen these days, but few are writing songs like Jackson Emmer”
-ROLLING STONE
“Alpine Coda” was listed as one of the best albums of 2020 by music blogs Twangville, and Lonesome Highway. Individual tracks from Alpine Coda also received “Best of 2020” nods from The Bluegrass Situation and Americana Highways.
