For more than a decade, this 501(c)(3) nonprofit has been turning a historic riverside home into one of Central Pennsylvania’s most intimate listening rooms. Founded by and curated by Tim and Polly Alexander, Mansion Concerts Inc. has become a local treasure where audiences and artists meet on level ground. There’s no stage barrier, no commercial clamor, no ringing cash registers—just 85-95 people gathered close enough to see a guitarist’s fingers dance and to hear a singer’s breath before the note.
“Hosting these concerts has never been about simply filling a calendar,” says Alexander. “It’s about filling a room with something that restores us.”
Please stay tuned to our forward schedule. Please join our mailing list. But please don't tell too many of your friends about this amazing, intimate, one-of-a-kind "guitar-centric" performance experience, as our space is quite limited. :)
Every guitarist remembers the first time they formed a cleanly fretted chord. The notes rang out, and something inside shifted. For Tim Alexander, that moment came decades ago while holding a well-worn, nylon-string Sears & Roebuck guitar—a humble beginning that left a tone in his memory long after the room fell silent.
Today, that same reverence for the guitar—its ability to speak without words—lives at the heart of Mansion Concerts Inc., the nonprofit series Tim and his wife, Polly, host inside the River Room at The Manor on Front in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
What began as a living-room gathering of friends and fellow pickers has evolved into a respected “premium” house-concert series celebrating live acoustic artistry. The setting is intimate, the sound is pure, and nearly every evening centers around a guitar in the hands of a master performer or songwriter.
“Everything we do begins with the guitar,” Alexander says. “It’s the common link that brings songwriters, fingerstyle players, and audiences together.”
