The Stray

OUR STORY Before becoming The Stray, the building across from Kim Nhung Superstore and Cafe Boba was a century-old auto repair shop, with aged architecture and large garage doors surrounding the building’s exterior. Chip and Karen VanKlompenberg envisioned the space in a new and unique way that brings diverse members of the community together. The Stray is a family-owned cafe with goals to bring diversity and community to a place of comfort and creativity. Located on Division Avenue in Wyoming, Michigan, The Stray offers a relaxing venue for both coffee enthusiasts and artists in the surrounding area. On any day of the week, The Stray will invite local artists to showcase their artistic talents to the customers and employees of The Stray. This blend of creative talent and delicious coffee will cultivate the welcoming and inspiring atmosphere that The Stray is working to bring to Grand Rapids.
